↘ THE BRIEF

Why Tadoba.
Why now.

Tadoba is one of India's most active tiger reserves — and one of its most contested. As tiger populations rebound, encounters between humans and tigers in surrounding villages have become a daily reality. Lokmat Times wanted a film that didn't take sides between conservation and the people who live alongside it, but instead followed the actual texture of the conflict.

The brief asked for two things at once: a long-form documentary with the patience to sit with farmers, forest officers, and the history of tigers in India — and a short-form social cut that could travel beyond Maharashtra. We delivered both.

↘ APPROACH

How we shot it.

01

On the ground

Spent days in villages adjacent to the reserve, talking to families who had lost livestock, forest officers managing patrol routes, and elder residents who remembered the reserve before it was a reserve.

02

Two-track edit

A long-form cut that followed the documentary arc — present-day conflict, deeper context, history of tigers in India. A short-form promo built from the most arresting visual moments and the strongest single quote.

03

Distribution

Long-form on Lokmat's YouTube. Short-form on Lokmat's Instagram. The promo did 715K views — over 12x the long-form — and pushed traffic back to the full film.

↘ RESULTS

What it did.

A regional documentary that reached a national audience, built almost entirely on organic distribution. The pairing of long-form depth with short-form virality is now the model we run on every Lokmat collaboration.
