↘ THE BRIEF

A road trip,
told as a balance sheet.

Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC manages mutual funds for one of India's largest financial services groups — but their story doesn't live in spreadsheets. It lives in the windmill towers being assembled in southern Tamil Nadu, the women's cooperative bank Chetna Sinha built in Satara, the sitar makers in the small town of Miraj, the MSME founders quietly running the country's growth engines.

The brief: take the company's leadership — CEO A. Balasubramanian, CIO Mahesh Patil, CFO Parag Joglekar — out of the boardroom and onto the road. Let them meet the people whose stories financial inclusion is actually about. Make a docu-series that doesn't feel like corporate communication, but like reportage.

Two seasons. Thirteen episodes. From Bharat Kal, Aaj, Aur Kal in the south to Pulse from the Ground in the west.

↘ APPROACH

How we shot it.

01

Zero-error shoots

The CEO, CIO, and CFO of a major financial institution have one thing in common: no time. Every shoot had to work in a single session — no reshoots, no second days. That meant pre-production carried all the weight. Location recces, lighting pre-rigs, and detailed shot lists so every conversation could roll within minutes of the executive arriving on set.

02

4 cameras + drone

A full professional multi-camera setup — four cameras running simultaneously across every episode. Drone coverage for location establishes and sweeping aerials. The rationale was simple: with high-profile talent who can't repeat a moment, you capture it from every angle at once. No missed reaction shots. No re-asking a factory worker to explain their craft a second time.

03

Creative under constraint

The real challenge wasn't the logistics — it was making it look effortless. A CEO walking through a Miraj sitar workshop should feel like a curious traveler, not a scripted corporate talking head. So we directed the movement, not the words. Walk with the craftsman. Touch the instrument. Let the camera follow the conversation rather than stage it.
